On September 22, 2004 Veronica Mars pilot show premiered. Where we were introduced to Veronica, your typical popular high school student and private eye.
Through flashbacks in that episode we find out that Veronica gets dumped by Duncan Kane. Shortly after news breaks of the murder of Neptune high school student, Lilly Kane, whom is Duncan's sister and Veronica's best friend. This news shook the seaside town of Neptune, California to its core.
Veronica's life continues to fall apart when...
Keith, the town sheriff and Veronica's father, accused Lilly's billionaire father of being involved in her murder. But when another man, Abel, Kane Software employee, confessed to the murder Keith found himself voted out of his job.
In response, Keith opened his own private detective agency, Mars Investigations, where later Veronica works part time as his secretary.
Lianne, Veronica's mom, was unable to deal with her husbands loss of status and developed a drinking problem then suddenly leaves town.
If high school wasn't hard enough without your best friend it didn't help all of Veronica's friends ostracized her.
To prove that she was unaffected by their rejection, Veronica attends her classmate Shelly "09er" party. While at the party Veronica gets handed a drink thats your average "rum, coke and GHB." The next day she finds herself in a bed and her panties on the floor.
After reporting being raped to the new Deputy Sheriff Lamb, who refuses to take it seriously, she was left to figure it out herself.
After these events Veronica was shocked and changed her attitude towards her former friends by becoming tough and cynical.
As Veronica starts her junior year of high school, it becomes clear that nothing about her life is what it seems.
Mind you that's just a synopsis of the first few episodes.
Unfortunately we are only blessed with 3 seasons.
So you got some catching up to do.
Today I found out that there is going to be a movie which continues 9 years later from the 3rd season. Which is right around her 10 year reunion.
