C.O.S.: Beauty Haul

Hey lovelies,

I recently have been stocking up on some cosmetic products.
From MaryKay to Lush to M.A.C. to Bioré.
I've been trying it all.

Lush.

Therapy is a massage bar.
It pretty much works like lotion just in bar form.
It is said to help with scarring.

The jar on the right is Brazened Honey which is a fresh face mask.
It's made with honey, lime oil, ground almonds, eggs and ginger.
This is a great deep cleansing mask that leaves your skin feeling brighter and fresher.

The jar on the left is Dark Angel which is a facial cleanser.
It's made with black sugar, charcoal and avocado oil.
This is great for exfoliating and leaves your skin hydrated.
This can also be used to lighten skin.
I use it on my face, my scar and feet; so far it works great.

Mary Kay

Mary Kay is one of my favorite cosmetic lines.
It is great when you know a few MK girls too.
Check out my MK consultant if you need any products. (Here!)

MK Lash Love is my favorite mascara.
It helps define my extra curly lashes for and everyday look.
The runner up is MK Ultimate Mascara which is great if you need volume.

I love blush!!!
Shy Blush is amazing if you want a nice soft pink with gold shimmer.
I'm restock my make up bag with that one.

I wanted to try something new so I grab this citrus bloom.
I'll let you know how it works out.

M.A.C.

Who doesn't love MAC?
They create amazing out of this world colored lipsticks.
Don't get me started on the eye shadows.

This was recommended for me as I was in desperate need of a highlighter.
I love it!!!! It blends nicely with my complexion.

Heroine is amazing!!!!

Pore strips come in handy.
I didn't realize how clogged my pore were until I used this.

Check out the lovely samples I have to try out.

Infused Detox Water

Hey lovelies,

A few weeks ago I tried my first infused detox water. I used Voss sparkling water and added strawberries it wasn't to fancy. But it taste better than plain spring water. I saw a picture on instagram @detoxwater recently that had a variety of fruits mixed in the water so that got me inspired to make my own.

Things you will need:
1 gallon of  room temperature water
3 containers ( I reused 2 Voss bottles and a mason jar)
6 strawberries ( enough for 2 containers)
1/2 cup of grapes
1/3 cup of blueberries
1 orange
1 1/2 lemons ( enough for 2 containers)
2 kiwis (1 for snack)
Cutting board
Knife

For additional flavor add your favorite tea bag.
I was going to use a grapefruit but I omitted it once my mom said not to touch it.

1. Strawberry, Lemon and Green tea

Start off by rinsing your ingredients.
Remember to inspect your fruits and cut off any imperfections.

(The strawberry in the middle looks like a heart. <3)

Time to chop up the lemons and strawberries.

Chop up enough lemons and strawberries that you will be able to use it for 2 drinks.

This container is a bit small so use half of a lemon and 3 of the smaller strawberries.

Don't forget to brew your tea. Bring 1 cup of water to a boil. Let the green tea bag seep for 3 to 5 mintues. ( I forgot to take a picture) Sorry.

Add all that to your Voss bottle and fini.
This Voss bottle without the fruits takes about 1 and 1/2 cups to fill.

2. Orange and lemon

The Voss bottle I'm using in this picture is 28.7 fl oz.
It's much bigger then the last one. It takes about 3.5 cups of water with the citrus fruits inside.

Remember those lemons I told you to save well your going to use it now.
You will need 1 whole lemon minus the tail ends.

Cut up 1 orange.
As you can see I already started to add the citrus fruits into my bottle.
I saved that bit you see on the cutting board as a snack.

S/N Make sure to use equal parts of the fruit your using especially if your mixing in lemons.

Lemons have a strong acidic flavor to them so be generous with the amount of oranges you use.

Now all you need to add is some spring water.
Wait about 24 - 48 hours so the water becomes infused.

This is a great refreshing beverage.
If you want to be fancy use sparkling water instead.

S/N I notice the citrus water lasted longer then the strawberry & lemon water.

3. Berry me up!

For this recipe I recommend using a mason jar.
(It holds more fruit and it actually last a bit longer)

Chop up all your berries.
(I forgot to take a pic of the kiwi)

Don't forget to grab the rest of your strawberries.

Rinse out the grapes and blueberries

Start brewing your tea of choice.
I used Yogi Skin Detox tea.
This tea needs to seep for 4 -6 minutes.
(That's enough time to clean up)
I just popped some fruits to the tea, this step isn't necessary.

Toss all your ingredients into your jar.

Voilà, c'est fini!

Let this concoction stay in the fridge for the full 48 hours.
The grapes and blueberries will soak up all the flavor in the jar.
That's definitely going to be a great snack for later.

ABC's Revenge

I'm addicted to ABC's television show Revenge. I knew once ABC released they had new writers for season 3 there was bond to be an amazing twist to bring the show back to life. Man these writers weren't afraid to start this season off with a bang. As for the finale it sure ended with one as well.

This season has been one heck of a roller coaster ride and this season finale was an ending that left me hoodwinked. I really don't want to spoil it for you… so go catch up on this entire season and I mean every single episode because I didn't see that ending coming. Victoria definitely surprised me but so did Emily. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

For those of you whom haven't seen a Revenge episode I'll give you a synopsis of the shows plot.

Revenge is inspired by the novel The Count of Monte Cristo. The pilot episode premiered on September 21, 2011 where we were introduced to Miss Emily Throne, who comes to the Hampton's and rents out a beach house, David Clarke's former home, located next to the Grayson's family mansion. Through flashbacks we find out that Miss Throne is really Amanda Clarke. We also find out that her father, David Clarke, was falsely framed for the bombing of flight 197 when she was a little girl. After a lengthy trail he was sentenced to life imprisonment, and was later murdered in prison by the same people that framed him. So Emily returns to the Hampton's with a plan to seek revenge for those who wronged her and her father. In the beginning the plan was to destroy every individual that had played a role in her fathers imprisonment but as each episode passes Emily finds out more about her fathers past and has to reevaluate her plans for each individual. As in, The Count of Monte Cristo, plans of revenge have devastating consequences for the innocent as well as the guilty. Each episode brought its own obstacles and with it new characters whom became collateral damage or Emily's newest ally.

Season 1 Highlights

Emily starts dating Daniel, son of Conrad Grayson. Frank pushes Lydia, Conrad's mistress, off her apartment balcony sending her 5 stories down to the roof of a taxi placing her in a coma. Nolan viewed this scene off his spy whale cam and later gets threatened by Frank. Frank finds out Emily's true identity and tracks down (fake) Amanda Clarke just to be killed in cold blood by her. Oh.. Emily and Amanda switched identities after they were 18 yrs old and waved goodbye to juvie. The plan starts to unravel once the real Emily Throne comes to town, pretty much warning Emily ( the real Amanda Clarke) that someone is onto her. Meanwhile Daniel's best friend Tyler has been crashing in the pool house. Amanda starts a romance with Jack Porter (real Amanda's childhood love). Emily finds out that Charlotte is the daughter of David Clark which makes her Emily's half sister. The mid season finale ends with Amanda standing over a dead body which is later identified as Tyler. Even more shocking Daniel's tuxedo is covered in Tyler's blood & that's only half of the first season so you can imagine the craziness that this show has to offer.

Revenge is a dish best served cold.

Chronicles of a Shopaholic - Online Shopping

Hey lovelies,

Today's post focuses on online shopping.

This is one of my ways to relieve my craving of going on a shopping spree.

Online shopping is convenient for people that hate going to the mall & waiting in line.
In other cases it's also great for shopping at stores that aren't located in your area.

First, I'll start off with the stores that aren't in my area.

Vidakush is a LA, California based trendy clothing store.
I like their unique jewelry pieces, especially their body chains.
Check out this body chain below that's 3 seconds away from being purchased.

I want to get my hands on this ^ and a leg chain.

Check out their Lookbooks for inspiration.

2. Dixi

Speaking of unique jewelry ShopDixi takes the cake.

I'm currently loving the stones & gems trend.
The fact that they sell them in every category of jewelry makes my heart smile.

I've been wanting an amethyst necklace for ages so once I found it online a girl had to put in her credit card info. Check out the other items I purchased.

The stores below tend to have exclusive deals that can be found online and sometimes in stores.

3. UO

I'm fortunate to have an UO next to my job but the down side is most of the items I like tend to sell out quickly. So I have to turn to the online store.

UO though makes online shopping fun with having exclusive items that you can only find online. When those items go on sale there definitely on my radar.

Tip 1. UO is one store that when they have a sale I have to go shopping.
Two times out of the year, pretty much the end of the fall season and beginning of summer season, they have a sale where all sale items are an additional 50%.

That's the best time to go shopping at UO. For example tops that used to be $50 bucks are on sale for 10 bucks and end up being cut in half to $5 and all you have to worry about is the taxes.

Charlotte Russe has affordable and comfortable shoes.
Yes, they also have cute trendy clothes and jewelry but that's not why I shop there.

Tip 1. CR always has get deals.
Some examples of their sales are B1G1 for $15, B1G1 for $5 or get 30% your cart.

Below is a list of online stores that you should check out...

From unique / limited edition items to affordable trendy clothing to vintage jewelry to apartment decor.

H&M | Asos

Keep Calm & Shop Online.

Music Monday: Standing in the Sun

Hey lovelies,

As you saw in my last post I'm enjoying Cinco de Mayo with my aunt and madre. We ventured to Boston's and on Monday's its reggae night. Above is a picture of the live band. I wish I got a picture of the DJ. His this cool rastafarian that looks like he could be Collie buddz dad. I'll get a picture with him next week so you can see. It was a great night with good vibes and music.

I love reggae music & after their performance I just wanted to listening to the Beyonce song from her campaign with H&M from last year. The song was leaked so she never released it as an official single.

For today's Music Monday enjoy Beyonce's west indies sound in "Standing in the Sun" the remix.

Leave a comment below if you feel she should have still released this song.

Cinco de Mayo!

Hey lovelies,

I hope all is well and that you had a great Cinco de Mayo.
I spent most of mine running errands with mi madre.
I'm currently leaving Rosalita's Tex Mex Grill where I had drinks with the family.
We are heading to this reggae spot called Boston's in Delray Beach.

Rosalita's has the best margaritas & chip and salsa.

I just got a t-shirt. Yay me!!!!

I grabbed some souvenirs (beach balls and 2 iPhone cases) before I left but I wasn't able to get a sombrero. :/ That's what happens when you arrive late.. Thanks mom.

Outfit of the night:
Leaf earrings - Mom's jewelry box
Crochet Dress - Urban Outfitters
Crop top - Urban Outfitters
Basic shorts - H&M
Arm cuff - H&M (Sold out)
Shoes - Aldo wedges - Eve
No makeup #Flawless

Did you know the catchy song "la cuca racha" is actually about a roach that's missing a leg. 😳👀
